NJEA provides grants to PRIDE organizations to help show the community what is being done in public schools. These grants go towards such programs as Teacher for a Day and Read Across America. Teacher for a Day is a program that invites community members into the classroom for a day to see everything that is involved with being a teacher, from planning, grading, and teaching a class for a full day. Read Across America is held every year in February/March and celebrates Dr. Seuss’ birthday. It promotes reading through a week-long celebration of activities such as having community members read to classes. Each year the Rockaway Mall displays students’ work from around the county for a week. This year, students’ work will be displayed from April 15th-April 22nd. Students love to see the hard work that they have done throughout the year displayed. Stop in at the mall during that week to see how hard Rockaway Borough students are working!
